Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Massachusetts is seeking a Medical Assistant/Practice Support to assist clinicians with routine procedures, ensure accurate EMR data, and manage pre-visit workflows. You will support patient care through precise documentation, vital signs, and lab coordination in a fast-paced clinical setting.

You will enhance patient experiences by coordinating referrals, scheduling, and MyHealth Online enrollment, while upholding quality and compliance standards throughout care delivery.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency or Medical Assistant Certification.
• ACLS may be required based on specialty.
• 1+ year experience in a clinical or customer service setting (degree may substitute).
• Computer experience with word processing and spreadsheets; EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability.
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms; measures vital signs.
• Assists clinicians with routine clinical procedures and tests and prep for exams.
• Updates EMR with medical information; reconciles medications and refills.
• Encourages MyHealth Online enrollment; assists with referrals and pre-visit labs.
• Orders and performs point-of-care waived testing; ensures QC and reporting.
• Maintains exam rooms, equipment, and supplies; supports care improvement activities.
• Acts as back-up for staff and supports other departments as needed.
