Spero Health, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Medical Assistant to join our integrated care team in Massachusetts. The role supports counseling, case management and medically assisted treatment, with a focus on coordinating patient flow and clinical tasks in a collaborative setting.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, 1–3 years MA experience and CPR certification. Phlebotomy or injections experience are a plus; responsibilities include scheduling, patient intake, documentation and insurance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred.
• 1-3 years as a Medical Assistant or similar role.
• CPR certification required or achievable.

Responsabilités

• Schedule patient appointments and manage check-in/out.
• Answer calls and monitor messages; maintain patient flow.
• Perform urine drug screens and take vitals; assist evaluations.
• Prescribe or call in medications as directed by Physician.
• Enter patient information into the electronic health record.
• Process prior authorizations with insurance venues.
• Balance daily payments; handle cash collection and benefits.
• Review Prescription Monitoring Database and educate on meds.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling patient appointments.
• Answering in-coming calls and checking voice messages regularly.
• Check patients in/out, monitor patient flow.
• Perform urine drug screens, takes vitals, assist with patient evaluations.
• Call in patient medication as directed by Physician.
• Input accurate patient information into electronic health record.
• Sending prior-authorizations to insurance companies.
• Perform daily financial summary and balance of payments received.
• Responsible for cash collection and verification of benefits.
• Review the Prescription Monitoring Database.
• Provide education and resource information regarding medication.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma required
• Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assisting preferred

Experience

• 1-3 years as a Medical Assistant (or similar type role)
• Phlebotomy and lab experience preferred
• Experience with injections preferred
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification
