Job summary

Spero Health is seeking a Part-Time Medical Assistant to join our team in Frankfort, KY. The role supports integrated care with counseling, case management and medically assisted treatment, while maintaining patient flow and clerical tasks.

The schedule includes Monday–Thursday shifts with specific time blocks in ET. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years MA experience, an accredited MA program, CPR certification, and knowledge of EHR systems.

Qualifications

• Completion of Medical Assistant training or program.
• Phlebotomy and lab experience preferred.
• CPR certification required or must obtain.
• Injection experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow.
• Answer incoming calls and check voice messages regularly.
• Check patients in/out and maintain accurate records.
• Perform urine drug screens and assist with patient evaluations.
• Call in medications as directed by Physician.
• Enter patient information into electronic health records accurately.
• Submit prior-authorizations to insurance companies.
• Prepare daily financial summaries and balance payments received.
• Handle cash collection and verify benefits.
• Review the Prescription Monitoring Database.
• Provide education and resources regarding medications.

The anticipated part-time schedule is as follows:

• Monday: 8 am - 2 pm ET
• Tuesday: 9 am - 5:30 pm ET
• Wednesday: 8 am - 2 pm ET
• Thursday: 8 am - 2 pm ET

Requirements

Education:

• High School Diploma required
• Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assisting preferred

Experience:

• 1-3 years as a Medical Assistant (or similar type role)
• Phlebotomy and lab experience preferred
• Experience with injections preferred
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification
