Spero Health in Frankfort, KY is seeking a Part-Time Medical Assistant to support our integrated care team. This role involves scheduling, patient check-in/out, vitals, urine drug screens, and documenting in our electronic health record.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and manage check-in/out.
• Answer calls and monitor voicemails; maintain patient flow.
• Perform vitals, urine drug screens, and assist with evaluations.
• Enter accurate patient data into the EHR.
• Coordinate prior-authorizations with insurers and assist with payments.
• Review Prescription Monitoring Database and provide patient education.

Spero Health is seeking a Part-Time Medical Assistant to join our awesome team in Frankfort, KY!

The anticipated part-time schedule is as follows:

• Monday: 8 am - 2 pm ET
• Tuesday: 9 am - 5:30 pm ET
• Wednesday: 8 am - 2 pm ET
• Thursday: 8 am - 2 pm ET

This position is for a Medical Assistant who supports the mission of “Saving Lives, Instilling Hope and Restoring Relationships” in an integrated team with patients receiving counseling, case management and medically assisted treatment. The Medical Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Scheduling patient appointments.
• Answering in-coming calls and checking voice messages regularly.
• Check patients in/out, monitor patient flow.
• Perform urine drug screens, takes vitals, assist with patient evaluations.
• Call in patient medication as directed by Physician.
• Input accurate patient information into electronic health record.
• Sending prior-authorizations to insurance companies.
• Perform daily financial summary and balance of payments received.
• Responsible for cash collection and verification of benefits.
• Review the Prescription Monitoring Database.
• Provide education and resource information regarding medication.

Requirements

Education:

• High School Diploma required
• Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assisting preferred

Experience:

• 1-3 years as a Medical Assistant (or similar type role)
• Phlebotomy and lab experience preferred
• Experience with injections preferred
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification
