Job summary

CLS Health PLLC is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support physicians and the clinical team. You will room patients, update histories, prepare charts, and assist with procedures to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care.

The role requires a certified or registered MA, at least two years’ experience, and strong communication and multitasking skills. Clinic experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office are preferred. Travel to other CLS Health locations may be needed.

Qualifications

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant from a recognized program.
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Experience in a medical office or customer service preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare them for visits.
• Review and update patient histories and vital signs.
• Prepare charts and verify benefits.
• Scan and upload documents to patient charts.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms for each patient visit.
• Process medication refills and obtain prior authorizations.
• Ensure in-network status and current referrals are documented.
• Assist with wound care and other clinical tasks as needed.
• Document patient conversations and follow up on calls.

The Opportunity

CLS Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable, organized, and committed to creating an excellent experience for both patients and providers.

In this role, you’ll work closely with physicians and the clinical team to support safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

What You’ll Do

• Room patients and prepare them for their visit.
• Review and update chief complaints, medical histories, medication lists, and vital signs.
• Prepare patient charts in advance and verify benefit reports.
• Scan and upload documents to the appropriate patient charts.
• Keep exam rooms clean, organized, and fully stocked before clinic, between patients, and at the end of the day.
• Process medication refills as directed by the physician and obtain medication prior authorizations/determinations as needed.
• Verify that physicians are in-network and ensure current referrals and authorizations are documented in the patient’s chart.
• Assist physicians with wound care, procedures, and other clinical needs.
• Follow up on patient calls and voicemails and accurately document conversations.
• Educate and inform patients regarding diagnostic imaging, labs, referrals, procedures, and other physician orders.
• Schedule follow-up appointments as directed by the physician.
• Obtain required authorizations before sending orders.
• Monitor the main fax line and distribute incoming faxes to the appropriate team members.
• Travel to other CLS Health locations as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program
• Two years+ of experience as a Medical Assistant
• Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred
