CLS Health PLLC in Houston, Texas is a multispecialty medical practice seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to support patient care and ensure safe, effective service.

You will room patients, collect history and vitals, prepare charts, assist physicians, coordinate referrals, and manage documentation. The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; two years' experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized credential.
• 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Room the patient and document chief complaint, medical history, medications and vitals.
• Prepare and verify patient charts and benefits reports.
• Scan documents into patient charts and keep rooms stocked and clean.
• Assist physician with wound care and procedures.
• Follow up on calls and log conversations; educate patients on orders.
• Schedule patient appointments after physician sees the patient.
• Obtain authorization prior to sending any orders when needed.
• Distribute faxes to the appropriate team members.

We are Looking for:

Someone who is an experienced Medical Assistant for a multispecialty medical practice. The medical assistant should perform a supportive role in delivering comprehensive care to the patient that is safe, effective, and efficient.

Responsibilities:

• Rooming the patient
• Interview/update patient’s chief complaint, medical history, medication list, and take vitals.
• Prepares patient charts a week in advance and verifies benefits reports.
• Prepares patient charts a week in advance.
• Scanning documents to appropriate patient charts.
• Makes sure all rooms are stocked and clean before clinic, after each patient, and at the end of the day.
• Refill patient medications as directed by a physician and obtain Pre-Authorization/Determination for medications.
• Ensures that physician is in-network and authorized/up-to-date referral is in the patient's chart.
• Assist the physician in the exam room with any wound care and/or procedures.
• Follow up on calls/voicemails and document phone log/conversation
• Educates and informs the patient of any DI, labs, referrals, and procedures physicians might have ordered.
• Schedules patients for upcoming appointments after the physician sees the patient.
• Obtains authorization prior to sending any orders when needed.
• Main fax line– Distribute faxes to appropriate team member(s)
• Performs related duties as required.

Requirements

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program
• Two years+ of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
• Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred
