Job summary

CLS Health in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant for a multispecialty medical practice. The assistant will support comprehensive patient care, focusing on safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in everyday workflows.

The ideal candidate holds a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credential, with 2+ years of experience in a medical office or client-facing environment. Bilingual abilities are a plus, and strong communication skills are essential for success in this

Qualifications

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization.
• Two years+ of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rooming the patient
• Interview/update patient’s chief complaint, medical history, medication list, and take vitals.
• Prepares patient charts a week in advance and verifies benefits reports.
• Prepares patient charts a week in advance.
• Scanning documents to appropriate patient charts.
• Makes sure all rooms are stocked and clean before clinic, after each patient, and at the end of the day.
• Refill patient medications as directed by a physician and obtain Pre-Authorization/Determination for medications.
• Ensures that physician is in-network and authorized/up-to-date referral is in the patient’s chart.
• Assist the physician in the exam room with any wound care and/or procedures.
• Follow up on calls/voicemails and document phone log/conversation
• Educates and informs the patient of any DI, labs, referrals, and procedures physicians might have ordered.
• Schedules patients for upcoming appointments after the physician sees the patient.
• Obtains authorization prior to sending any orders when needed.
• Main fax line– Distribute faxes to appropriate team member(s)
• Performs related duties as required.

We Are Looking For
