Job summary

Catholic Health Physician Practices in East Hills, NY is hiring Medical Assistants to support a Cardiothoracic physician practice. The role blends clinical duties with front-desk tasks to ensure smooth patient flow, accurate vitals, and coordinated care.

You will assist with EKGs, lab specimens, and room preparation while upholding a compassionate, patient-centered approach in a mission-driven health system.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of NYS-accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Current Medical Assistant certification preferred (NHA, AMT, AAMA, NCCT).
• BCLS certification (in-person training) required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms: sanitize, stock supplies, and ensure medications/vaccines are ready for the day.
• Review upcoming appointments and identify gaps in care (mammograms, colonoscopies, immunizations, etc.).
• Escort patients to rooms and manage patient flow to maximize efficiency.
• Take and record vitals, patient history, allergies, medications, and current concerns.
• Assist with procedures, including EKGs, Holter monitors, and in-office testing.
• Collect and process lab specimens; track and document results.
• Perform quality control on equipment and testing materials.
• Help at the front desk when needed – greeting patients, answering phones, verifying insurance.
• Collaborate with providers and the care team to ensure the best patient outcomes.

What You’ll Do

What You Bring

• High School diploma and/or GED required
• Graduation from a NYS-accredited Medical Assistant program is required
• Current Medical Assistant certification preferred (NHA, AMT, AAMA, NCCT)
• BCLS certification (in-person training only, American Heart Association)
• Strong clinical skills including phlebotomy and aseptic technique
• A team-first attitude and commitment to providing respectful, quality care
• Must have 1-2 yrs. of experience as a medical assistant

Salary Range

USD $26.00 - USD $30.00 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and position location. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
