Job summary

Catholic Health is seeking a Medical Assistant in New York who thrives in a team-oriented environment and enjoys both clinical and administrative responsibilities.

You will prepare exam rooms, take vitals, review appointments, assist with procedures (EKGs, Holter monitors), collect specimens, and support front desk tasks to keep patient flow smooth.

Graduation from a NYS-accredited Medical Assistant program is required, with certification preferred and BCLS training.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a NYS-accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• Current Medical Assistant certification preferred (NHA, AMT, AAMA, NCCT).
• BCLS certification (in-person training only).
• Strong clinical skills including phlebotomy and aseptic technique.
• Team-first attitude and commitment to quality care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms: sanitize, stock supplies, and ensure medications/vaccines are ready for the day.
• Review upcoming appointments and identify gaps in care (mammograms, colonoscopies, immunizations, etc.).
• Escort patients to rooms and manage patient flow to maximize efficiency.
• Take and record vitals, patient history, allergies, medications, and current concerns.
• Assist with procedures, including EKGs, Holter monitors, and in-office testing.
• Collect and process lab specimens; track and document results.
• Perform quality control on equipment and testing materials.
• Help at the front desk when needed - greeting patients, answering phones, verifying insurance.
• Collaborate with providers and the care team to ensure the best patient outcomes.

Salary Range
