Scripps Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Orthopedic Surgery team at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines. This full-time benefitted resource position supports patient care with back-office focus and occasional front-office duties.

Shift times range from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with 8-hour shifts. You will room patients, take vitals, assist with procedures, and document in EPIC.

Responsabilités

• Rooming patients
• Checking vitals
• Assisting with procedures
• Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
• Predominantly back-office responsibilities but is expected to help with front-office duties on an as-needed basis
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice
• Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
• Collecting patient data in person and by phone
• Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
• Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
• Scheduling of appointments and procedures
• Complete and accurate message taking
• Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
• Order and referral entry
• Acquisition of pre-certifications
• Setting up of cases in EPIC
• Basic registration and updating of demographics

This is a full-time benefitted resource position at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines, working Monday through Friday in 8-hour shifts. Shift times may vary based on clinic operational needs, with start times as early as 7:00 AM and end times as late as 5:00 PM.
