Job summary

Scripps Health's Torrey Pines General Surgery department in La Jolla seeks a team-oriented candidate to support daily patient flow, rooming, vitals, and procedure assistance. This role emphasizes accurate data entry, EPIC documentation, and smooth coordination with providers.

You will help maintain a clean, organized, and safe surgical clinic environment, assist with scheduling, referrals, and pre-certifications, and ensure clear communication of physician instructions to patients.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
• Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice
• Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
• Collecting patient data in person and by phone
• Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
• Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
• Scheduling of appointments and procedures
• Complete and accurate message taking
• Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
• Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
• Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics
• Setting up for in-office procedures

Job description
