BayCare in Florida is seeking a Medical Assistant or LPN to support clinical operations in a cardiology-focused setting. You will assist providers, prepare patients for visits, and help maintain EMR records while ensuring efficient workflows within the practice.

The role emphasizes high-quality patient care, routine lab work, and adherence to OSHA/CLIA regulations within a large BayCare network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or related technical training preferred.
• Approved Medical Assistant Certification within six months of hire OR proof of active license/certification as EMT, NREMT, Paramedic or LPN.

Responsibilities

• Assisting providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Obtaining patient histories and preparing patients for visits.
• Performing routine lab procedures and preparing specimens for transport to the lab.
• Following up on test orders and communicating results to providers and patients.
• Creating and updating patient records in the EMR.
• Maintaining medical equipment and clinical supplies.
• Ensuring compliance with OSHA and CLIA regulations.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Role Overview

As a Medical Assistant or LPN, you will support clinical operations by assisting providers and delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring efficient workflows within the practice.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
• Obtaining patient histories and preparing patients for visits
• Performing routine lab procedures and preparing specimens for transport to the lab

• Maintaining medical equipment and clinical supplies
• Ensuring compliance with OSHA and CLIA regulations
• Performing other duties as assigned

Required:

• Approved Medical Assistant Certification within six (6) months of hire OR proof of active license/certification as one of the following:
  • EMT (Emergency Medical Technician)
  • NREMT (Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician)
  • Paramedic
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
