Job summary

BayCare in Tampa, FL seeks a Medical Assistant or LPN to join our Neurology team. The role focuses on patient care, clinical support, and maintaining EMR documentation in a busy outpatient setting.

The ideal candidate has Certified Medical Assistant credentials or an active nursing license (LPN/EMT/NREMT/Paramedic) and a high school diploma. On-site work with daytime hours and opportunities for training and growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Approved Medical Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire or proof of active license/certification.
• EMT, NREMT, Paramedic or LPN credentials accepted.
• High School diploma or equivalent; 2 years Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatment.
• Manage patient histories, routine lab procedures, and specimen preparation.
• Maintain EMR and ensure accurate documentation.
• Follow OSHA and CLIA regulations and assist with supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Assists providers with patient examination, procedures, and treatment.
• Responsible for patient histories, routine lab procedures and preparation of specimens for transport to the lab.
• Follows up on test orders and reports results to provider and patient, provides and maintains patient education materials, maintains medical equipment, and orders clinical supplies.
• Creates and maintains patient electronic medical record (EMR).
• Complies with all OSHA and CLIA regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Approved Medical Assistant Certification required within 6 months of hire date or proof of active license/certification.
• Or EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or NREMT (Nationally Recognized Emergency Medical Technician)
• Or Paramedic
• Or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse)
• Required High School or Equivalent
• Preferred 2 years Medical Assistant
