BayCare Health System in Clearwater, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant or LPN to support a congestive heart failure clinic. You will assist providers, prepare patients, perform labs, and maintain EMR records, contributing to efficient clinic workflows.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, MA program completion, and 2 years MA experience. Certifications or active licenses (EMT/NREMT/Paramedic/LPN) within 6 months are preferred. Onsite position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• MA program or related technical training preferred.
• Two years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Certification or active license as MA/EMT/NREMT/Paramedic/LPN within 6 months.
• Externship completion with location and dates encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient examination, procedures, and treatment.
• Collect patient histories and prepare patients for visits.
• Perform routine lab procedures and prepare specimens for transport.
• Follow up on test orders and communicate results to providers and patients.
• Maintain patient education materials.
• Update and manage EMR patient records.
• Maintain medical equipment and order clinical supplies.
• Ensure OSHA and CLIA compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Role Overview

As a Medical Assistant or LPN, you will support clinical operations by assisting providers and delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring efficient workflows within a specialty heart failure clinic setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting providers with patient examination, procedures, and treatment
• Collecting patient histories and preparing patients for visits
• Performing routine lab procedures and preparing specimens for transport to the lab
• Following up on test orders and communicating results to providers and patients
• Maintaining patient education materials
• Managing and updating patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Maintaining medical equipment and ordering clinical supplies
• Ensuring compliance with OSHA and CLIA regulations
• Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Preferred

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or related technical training

Experience

• Two (2) years of Medical Assistant experience

Licensure / Certification

• Approved Medical Assistant Certification within six (6) months of hire OR proof of active license/certification as one of the following: EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or NREMT; Paramedic; Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Additional Preference

• Candidates who have completed a Medical Assistant externship are encouraged to include the location and dates on their application and resume
