New York Health (NYH) is seeking a Medical Assistant for the OBGYN unit in Patchogue and Smithtown, NY. The role supports patient intakes, specimen collection, vital signs, and exam preparation in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The ideal candidate holds a Medical Assistant Certificate and a high school diploma, with EMR proficiency preferred. This on-site position offers health insurance from day one, a 401k, paid time off, disability coverage, and multiple holidays.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform routine clinical tasks.

Responsabilidades

• Manage patient intakes with accurate information.
• Collect and process lab specimens and perform venipuncture.
• Record vital signs and prepare patients for exams.
• Sterilize equipment and assist with office procedures.
• Assist during visits and data entry.
• Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Medical Assistant - OBGYN

Location: Patchogue, & Smithtown, NY

Hours/Days: 5 8.5 hour days, Mon-Fri between 7:30am-8pm

Organization: New York Health (NYH) - OBGYN

In this role, you will:

• Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording


• Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests


• Record patients' vital signs


• Prepare patients for examinations


• Sterilize medical equipment and instruments


• Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process


• Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures


• Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing


• Other duties as assigned

We require:

• A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma


• Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred)


• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching


• Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids


• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.


• Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
