New York Health (NYH) is seeking a Medical Assistant - OBGYN to join its caring, patient-centered team in Patchogue and nearby Smithtown locations.

You will manage patient intakes, record vital signs, collect lab specimens, prepare patients for exams, and assist physicians during visits with a focus on accuracy and compassionate care.

Qualificações

• Medical Assistant Certificate and High School Diploma are required.
• Proficiency with an EMR system is preferred.
• Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods.
• Knowledge of standard precautions and PPE for bloodborne pathogens.

Responsabilidades

• Manage patient intakes and record accurate information.
• Collect and process lab specimens, venipuncture and tests.
• Record patients' vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examinations.
• Sterilize equipment and instruments.
• Assist providers and staff with data entry.
• Assist physicians during visits and procedures.
• Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Medical Assistant - OBGYN

Location

Patchogue, & Smithtown, NY

Hours/Days

5 8.5 hour days, Mon-Fri between 7:30am-8pm

In This Role, You Will

• Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording
• Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests
• Record patients' vital signs
• Prepare patients for examinations
• Sterilize medical equipment and instruments
• Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process
• Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures
• Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing
• Other duties as assigned

We Require

• A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma
• Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred)
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
