Job summary

New York Health (NYH) is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Mount Sinai, NY team. This role supports patient intake, specimen collection, vital signs, and exam preparation in a fast-paced clinic.

The ideal candidate holds a Medical Assistant Certificate with a High School Diploma and EMR experience. Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and travel to NYH locations if needed. Competitive benefits provided.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient intakes and record information accurately.

• Sterilize equipment and assist providers with data entry.
• Assist physicians during visits and with office procedures.
• Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Location: Mount Sinai, NY Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hr shifts Mon-Fri 7:15am-6:00pm Organization: New York Health (NYH) - PCP

In this role, you will:

• Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording
• Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests
• Record patients' vital signs
• Prepare patients for examinations
• Sterilize medical equipment and instruments
• Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process
• Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures
• Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing
• Other duties as assigned

We require:

• A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma
• Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred)
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
