New York Health (NYH) in Holbrook, NY is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team. You will manage patient intakes, collect lab specimens, measure vital signs, prepare patients for exams, sterilize equipment, and assist providers.

A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma are required; EMR proficiency is preferred, and reliable transportation for travel between NYH locations is needed. We offer a starting salary of $22 per hour, health insurance from day 1, dental and vision,

Job Description

Medical Assistant

Location: Holbrook, NY

Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hr shifts Mon-Fri 7:15am-6:00pm

Organization: New York Health (NYH) - PCP

In This Role, You Will

• Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording
• Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests
• Record patients' vital signs
• Prepare patients for examinations
• Sterilize medical equipment and instruments
• Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process
• Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures
• Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing
• Other duties as assigned

We Require

• A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma
• Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred)
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
