Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the OBGYN department in Dearborn, MI. This role supports clinicians with administrative and clinical tasks, ensuring smooth patient flow and high-quality care.

The position offers a $2,000 sign-on bonus and regular Monday–Friday hours with occasional Saturday coverage. Join a large Michigan health system committed to patient-centered care and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum).
• OR graduate from a Medical Assistant program without externship but with minimum one-year clinical medical assisting experience in past five years.
• OR current Medical Assistant Certification with at least five years of clinical experience, or LPN/EMT/Paramedic with clinical experience, or military medical personnel with similar background.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to the exam room and maintain a welcoming environment.
• Obtain and document accurate medical histories from patients.
• Measure and record vital signs and prepare patients for examinations or procedures.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Perform administrative tasks to support the clinical team and patient care.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Additional Requirements: Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum). OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years. OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting. OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
• Current BLS-C certification upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
