Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the OBGYN department. You will greet patients, collect histories, record vital signs and assist providers during exams, while handling essential administrative tasks to ensure smooth patient care.

The role requires completion of an MA program with externship or equivalent experience, along with BLS-C and relevant certifications. Monday–Friday schedule with on-site work; a $2,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum).
• Graduate from MA program without externship but with a minimum one-year clinical MA experience in past five years.
• Current CMA certification with at least five years of clinical experience.
• LPN license.
• EMT/Paramedic with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical setting within past five years.
• Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical setting within past five years.
• Current BLS-C certification upon hire or by end of orientation.

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum).
• Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years.
• Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
• Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
• Current BLS-C certification upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
