Your Job:
Our Medical Assistant NCT works under the general direction of the physician with the assistance of the clinical coordinator if applicable; reports directly to the office manager. You will provide healthcare to individuals and families as instructed by the physician; perform routine clinical procedures as directed by the physician; participate in patient education; enter appropriate documentation into patients' health records; and perform other duties within your certification scope.

Your Job Requirements:

• 1-3 years healthcare-related experience in your field.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Current approved medical assistant credential or credential obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current NCT permit through the Texas Medical Board.

Your Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and use complete discretion when discussing patient information.
• Implement patient care and follow-up, including notification of lab results, tasking messages, phone calls, and updating patient information under the guidance of physicians and/or practice manager.
• Perform intramuscular, intradermal, or subcutaneous injections with complete documentation.
• Assist physicians and other MAs in providing nursing care according to clinic policies and procedures.
• Take patient history and vital signs.
• Demonstrate knowledge of infection control procedures.
• Clean and disinfect instruments and maintain QA reports for the autoclave.
• Perform autoclaving weekly or biweekly as needed.
• Conduct nurse/injection-only visits with proper documentation.
• Perform X-rays and PFTs.
• Prepare FMLA forms and other documents for physician review, such as home health and prescription pre-certifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
