Job summary

Sentara MJH MJ Medical and Surgical Associates in Charlottesville, VA seeks a Medical Assistant - non-certified to support patient care and administrative tasks in a day-shift role. The position is Monday through Friday, 40 hours weekly, 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional float.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical/administrative experience required.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification must be received within 9 months in one of the listed programs: CCMA, CMA, RMA or EMT.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care and administrative tasks under supervision.
• Assist physicians, NPs, PAs, nurses with daily procedures.
• Handle clerical duties and maintain accurate records.

Overview

The Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative and clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Experience

One year of clinical/administrative experience required

Phlebotomy experience preferred

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Certification/Licensure

Certification must be received within (9) nine months of employment in one of the following certification programs:
CCMA- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or
CMA- Certified Medical Assistant or
RMA- Registered Medical Assistant or
EMT- Emergency Medical Technician
