Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduation from a medical assisting degree/program is preferred.
• One year of healthcare/medical - primary care/office experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard is required.
• Medical Assistant Certification or EMT is preferred.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Keeps the clinical environment clean, stocked, and ready for patient care.
• Performs phlebotomy, prepares specimens for lab transport, and conducts simple lab procedures.
• Takes vital signs and prepares patients for procedures; assists with patient flow.
• Answers phones, schedules appointments, collects co-pays/payments, assists with billing, and updates the EMR.
