Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical assisting degree/program preferred.
• Six months of healthcare experience required.
• One year of healthcare/primary care experience preferred.
• One year of medical terminology experience required.
• Knowledge of Bloodborne Pathogen Standard required.
• Experience in clinical pharmacology required.
• Medical Assistant Certification or EMT preferred; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure clinical environment is cleaned, stocked, and ready for patient care.
• Perform phlebotomy and prepare specimens for lab transport.
• Perform simple laboratory procedures and take vital signs.
• Prepare patients for procedures and assist with patient flow.
• Provide general clinical support to physicians and staff; answer phones and schedule.
• Collect co-pays, assist with billing, and document in the electronic medical record.
