Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the 01120 GCMG South End Family Medicine clinic in Charlotte, NC. Clinic hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. This full-time role requires MA certification and patient-care competency with a focus on team-based care.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vitals, assisting with procedures, handling labs, administering vaccines, and coordinating referrals. Strong communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military clinical training in lieu of a formal MA program.
• Basic clinical competencies and ability to perform routine tasks.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients, taking vitals, med reconciliation, health maintenance and screenings.
• Assist providers with procedures as ordered.
• Perform lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, and CLIA-waived tests.
• Administer medications and vaccines following medication safety protocols.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals; maintain patient communication.
