Job summary

UW Health Dermatology and Mohs Surgery is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA, CMA, RMA, CCMA, LPN) to assist dermatology teams with procedures including biopsies, excisions, and wound care. The role involves facilitating phototherapy, photodynamic therapy, or laser treatments, and delivering compassionate, patient-family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Accredited Medical Assistant program completion required
• LPN licensure required or obtained upon hire
• Completion of UWH MA Apprenticeship or Employee Partner MA Program or CCMA certification
• CCMA certification obtained as UWH employee or CMA/RMA/CCMA certified
• Acceptance into UWH MA Apprenticeship Program – Accelerated or similar pathway
• One year MA experience with CMA/RMA/CCMA certification preferred

Full-time, 100% FTE, Hours are Monday: 7:00-4:00, Tuesday: 10:00-4:30, Wednesday: 7:00-4:00, Thursday: 7:00-4:00 and Friday: 7:00-4:00 day shift. Hours will vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Medical Assistant (MA, CMA, RMA, CCMA, LPN) – Dermatology and Mohs Surgery

• Join our UW Health dermatologists and advanced practice providers who diagnose and treat diseases of the skin, hair, nails and mucous membranes in a fast-paced clinic. Provide hands‑on assistance with dermatology and mohs surgical procedures, including biopsies, excisions, and wound care.
• Facilitate services such as phototherapy, photodynamic therapy or laser procedures.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program Required or
• Licensure as an LPN or
• Completion of the UWH Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program or an Employee Partner Medical Assistant Program or
• Attainment of the CCMA certification as a UWH employee or
• Acceptance into the UWH MA Apprenticeship Program – Accelerated or
• One year of recent Medical Assistant experience and CMA, RMA or CCMA Certification

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Certified as MA, CMA, RMA, or CCMA within 1 Year Required or
• Licensure as an LPN Upon Hire Required
• If applying in lieu of Medical Assistant education or LPN licensure, must have current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification Upon Hire Required
• CPR/BLS certification Upon Hire Required
