Job summary

Trinity Health MI is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support clinical teams in a fast-paced outpatient setting. You will prepare patients, take vitals, perform EKGs, draw blood, and assist with injections and immunizations while performing point-of-care tests.

The role includes administrative duties and potential involvement in in-office procedures, requiring a high school diploma and completion of an MA program. Certification is preferred, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited MA program and externship/internship.
• Preferred certification as CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/CMAC.
• If no MA program completed, 2+ years of clinical support experience in a community clinic.

Responsibilities

• Room setup and patient preparation.
• Take vitals (manual and electronic).
• Perform EKG and venipuncture for blood draws.
• Provide injections/immunizations and administer point-of-care testing.
• Assist with in-office procedures/treatments and pharmacology basics.
• Handle administrative duties to support clinic operations.

Medical Assistants work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of licensed clinical professionals in a clinic or practice environment. MAs are expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience.

What you will do

What you will need

• Education- Minimum: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved: MA program and MA externship, MA internship, EMT, or Paramedic program.
• Credentials/Licensure (Preferred): Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) American Medical Technologists (RMA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA) National Healthcareer Association (CCMA) National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA) American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
• Related Experience- Minimum: In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, must have 2+ years clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills. Preferred: New graduate or 1 or more years of previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
