Job summary

Trinity Health in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking Medical Assistants to support patient care under licensed clinicians in a clinic setting. You will help with room preparation, vitals, EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, point-of-care testing, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth patient visits.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED and completion of an MA program with externship, internship, EMT, or Paramedic training.
• Preferred certifications: CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, CMAC.
• Experience: 2+ years clinical support in a community-based clinic if MA program not completed; new graduate with 0-1 year acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Room set up and patient preparation.
• Taking vitals (Manual & Electronic).
• Perform EKG.
• Drawing blood and giving injections and immunizations.
• Performing office tests (Point of Care Testing).
• Pharmacology and administrative duties.
• May perform or assist with in-office procedures/treatments.

Medical Assistants work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of licensed clinical professionals in a clinic or practice environment. MAs are expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience.

What you will need:

• Education- Minimum: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved: MA program and MA externship, MA internship, EMT, or Paramedic program.
• Credentials/Licensure (Preferred): Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies:
• American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
• American Medical Technologists (RMA)
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
• National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
• National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
• American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
• Related Experience- Minimum: In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, must have 2+ years clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills. Preferred:New graduate or 1 or more years of previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
