Job summary

Trinity Health MI is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a clinic setting in Grand Rapids. You will prepare patients, take vitals, perform EKGs, draw blood, administer injections and immunizations, and conduct point-of-care tests under supervision.

The role includes administrative duties and potential assistance with in-office procedures. Education should include an MA program with externship; certifications are preferred; 2+ years of clinical experience may be required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; completion of accredited MA program with externship or internship.
• Preferred certifications: CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, CMAC.
• Experience: 2+ years clinical support if MA program not completed; 1+ year preferred.

Job description

Medical Assistants work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of licensed clinical professionals in a clinic or practice environment. MAs are expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience.

What you will do

What you will need

• Education- Minimum: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved: MA program and MA externship, MA internship, EMT, or Paramedic program.
• Credentials/Licensure (Preferred): Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies:
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
  • American Medical Technologists (RMA)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
  • National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
  • National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
  • American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
• Related Experience- Minimum: In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, must have 2+ years clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills. Preferred: New graduate or 1 or more years of previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
