Job summary

Banner Health's Liver Disease Center-Clinic in Phoenix is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a dedicated team. You will room patients, take vitals, assist with procedures, document in the EMR, and support front-office tasks to ensure a smooth patient flow.

Uncertified MA candidates will have 12 months to become nationally certified, with study materials provided and certification cost covered. The role offers a full-time day schedule, certification opportunities, and Banner Health career

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Banner approved medical assistant training program.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification is required.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• Strong computer skills with medical software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card may be required in some clinics.
• Experience with office medical procedures and scheduling software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for exam by taking vital signs and documenting chief complaint.
• Assist providers with exams and minor in-office procedures.
• Coordinate and manage patient care including referrals, authorizations, and scheduling.
• Provide clerical support and ensure complete medical records and billing information.
• Maintain clean, disinfected exam rooms and equipment.
• Order supplies and stock patient care areas.
• Develop effective communication with patients and staff.
• Complete onboarding/orientation activities and simulations as needed.
• Interact with providers, staff, patients, and external contacts to support patient care.
