Job summary

Paycom is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant Lead in Frederick, MD to support clinical operations and team development within the practice. You will train, guide, and support the MA team to ensure quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and efficient workflows.

This on-site role serves as the primary MA staff contact and coordinates daily patient flow. The position requires 3–5 years of MA or clinical experience, High School diploma, and preferred MA certification.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of Medical Assistant or clinical experience preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• Proven staff mentorship/training ability.
• Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
• Proficient in EMR systems and general office technology.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and collect vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
• Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and in-office treatments.
• Administer injections and perform point-of-care testing as ordered.
• Scribe during patient visits and prepare documentation for provider review in the EMR.
• Verify and prepare patient charts, ensuring labs, imaging, pathology, and referral reports are complete.
• Sterilize instruments, operate the autoclave, and maintain clean, well-stocked exam rooms and clinical supplies.
• Triage patient clinical calls and respond to EMR tasks, pharmacy coordination, and patient communications.
• Manage medication samples and inventory in compliance with clinical protocols.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and safety procedures.
• Greet and check in patients; ensure timely patient flow.
