Corewell Health in Grand Rapids is seeking a Medical Assistant (Interventional Endoscopy) to support a fast-paced gastroenterology practice. You’ll handle comprehensive patient rooming, chart preparation, in-basket management, and routine clinical and admin workflows to ensure timely access and smooth clinic flow.

This full-time role requires a High School diploma and a certified MA program or equivalent experience; BLS within 90 days; CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA within 120 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of accredited MA training or 1 year direct patient care experience in MA scope required.
• 1 year experience in physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
• BLS certification required within 90 days.
• Certification within 120 days: CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, or NRCMA.

Practice Overview

The gastroenterology practice sees patients for acute and chronic situations. Patients of this clinic may be long term patients or be seen for consultations of a one-time situation. Many patients are referred to our space for evaluation of illnesses ranging from esophageal issues, pancreas and liver conditions to lower abdominal symptoms, Crohn's, Colitis, as well as Liver Diseases and Cancer.

Medical Assistant (MA) - Interventional Endoscopy

The MA serves as an essential member of the Interventional Endoscopy care team, helping ensure timely patient access, efficient clinic flow, accurate documentation, and prompt follow-up of patient needs while supporting providers and nurses to practice at the top of their licensure.

This position is responsible for comprehensive patient rooming, proactive chart preparation, in-basket management, and coordination of routine clinical and administrative workflows.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills training OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with MA scope of practice Required
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
• One of the following Required within 120 Days AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
• NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
• NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
• NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA
