Corewell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant in Grand Rapids to join a gastroenterology team. You will support clinical and administrative tasks, work closely with physicians and nurses, and help ensure high-quality patient care. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered for external applicants or current CHW MA Apprentice students.

The position features a day shift, full-time hours, and a collaborative, patient-centered culture across 300+ outpatient clinics in Michigan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR 1 year direct patient care experience.
• 1 year of experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
• BLS certification required within 90 days.
• MA certifications CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA encouraged.

Practice Overview

The gastroenterology practice sees patients for acute and chronic situations. Patients of this clinic may be long term patients or be seen for consultations of a one-time situation. Many patients are referred to our space for evaluation of illnesses ranging from esophageal issues, pancreas and liver conditions to lower abdominal symptoms, Crohn's, Colitis, as well as Liver Diseases and Cancer.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent Required

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands‑on in‑person clinical skills training OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with MA scope of practice Required

1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred

AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
