Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate's degree in medical assisting is preferred.
• 1–2 years direct MA experience or medical field work is required.
• BLS certification is preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers.
• Take vital signs, document patient information, schedule appointments, and manage patient flow.
• Explain procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions to patients; organize and provide educational materials.
• Perform general office duties (phones, dictation, insurance forms) and coordinate with other departments.
• Collect blood/tissue samples, log and prepare for testing; perform phlebotomy if competent.
• Maintain immunization inventory and check expiration dates; provide immunizations as applicable.
• Support quality initiatives and patient safety measures in the department.
