Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, or structured military clinical training per DD214.
• Current BLS certification; ability to obtain required certifications within the stated timelines.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and maintains competency.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, medical history, screenings.
• Assists providers with procedures and lab-related duties, including POCT.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely following medication administration rights.
• Handles referrals, authorizations, scheduling, and patient messaging as needed.
• Cross-trained to support specialty or clinic practice within MA scope.
• Maintains clean, stocked work areas and ensures equipment is in working order.
• Communicates effectively and escalates issues as required.
• Assesses age-specific needs and references department policies.
