Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within last 5 years.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification as applicable by division.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of medical assisting duties and patient care within department policies.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks including vital signs, history, and screenings.
• Assists providers with procedures and performs lab duties per CLIA waivers.
• Administers medications and vaccines following medication administration rights.
• Maintains equipment cleanliness and ensures supplies are stocked.
• Communicates effectively with patients and team; escalates when needed.
