Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside Internal Medicine in Jacksonville, FL is hiring a Medical Assistant to support exam days and procedures. The role involves preparing patients, assisting physicians, recording vitals and histories, and maintaining charts and rooms.

Strong organizational skills and reliability are essential. Minimum requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, and BLS certification within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
• Required credentials: BLS Provider within 30 days of hire; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Preferred credentials: CMA from AAMA; Nat'l Medical Assistant Certification or CMA/RMA equivalents; NCCT/AAMA/AMT acceptable; BMO certs preferred. State FL BMO registration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and assist physician with procedures.
• Record patient vital signs and medical histories accurately in charts.
• Manage clinical logistics: prepare treatment rooms, maintain supplies and equipment.
• Perform essential clerical duties: answer phones, file, and maintain patient records.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s): BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Preferred Credential(s): Certified Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). Nat'l Medical Assistant (MA) Certification - CMA (Cert. Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant)/AAMA Cert. (American Association of Medical Assistants). NCCT, AAMA, or AMT are acceptable certification sites. Completion of Basic Machine Operators (BMO) cert. preferred. Current registration with State of FL as a BMO Operator preferred.
• Medical Assistant.
