Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a daytime Medical Assistant in Charlotte, NC, for the Carolinas Medical Center – Surgical Services location. The role supports patient intake, vitals, screenings, and coordination with physicians in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The position is full-time, 40 hours/week with a Monday–Friday schedule and occasional cross-site responsibilities; requires BLS and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Join a team dedicated to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent training.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association preferred/required where indicated.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Medical Assistant scope of practice and maintain competency.
• Perform rooming tasks: vitals, med reconciliation, history, screenings.
• Assist provider with procedures and venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT.
• Administer medications and vaccines following safety protocols.
• Coordinate scheduling, referrals, and patient messaging; support team.
