Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Medical Assistant to support the Breast Clinic at Carolinas Medical Center - LC: Morehead. You will conduct patient rooming, vital signs, history taking and screenings, and assist providers with procedures and lab duties.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen handling, vaccines, and medication administration. AHA BLS certification is required and training is provided for competency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows department policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, med reconciliation, history, health maintenance, allergy review, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures and labs.
• Performs venipuncture, specimen handling, and CLIA-waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely.
• Cross-trained for duties within clinic scope.
• Maintains clean, stocked work area and communicates effectively.
