Job summary

Indiana University Health in Carmel, IN is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative duties. You will room patients, assist providers, manage messages and paperwork, and maintain medical records in a busy outpatient setting.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, 0-2 years of experience, CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC certification, and BLS. Knowledge of ICD-10/CPT and OSHA/CLIA is preferred. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of a High School sponsored CTE program welcomed.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• New hires/promotions after Oct 12, 2026 require graduation from a Medical Assistant program.
• Current certification in medical assisting (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC) required.
• AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers required; other life support certifications may be required per unit.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and support providers during clinic visits.
• Manage patient messages, paperwork, and prior authorizations.
• Assist with clinical and administrative duties.
• Room patients and complete intake.
• Assist providers with patient care.
• Manage patient messages.
• Scan and maintain medical records.
• Prepare exam rooms and support clinic workflow.
