Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months MA experience or completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program.
• Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire.
• BLS (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required within 90 days of hire.
• Maintains current certifications in required emergency response trainings (i.e. BLS).

Responsibilities

• Perform MA procedures under supervision and organizational policy.
• Prepare patient for rooming and exam.
• Prepare and administer medications and immunizations.
• Suture/Staple removal and dressing changes.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Provide basic education to patients.
• Set up aseptic and sterile procedures.
• Perform office-based procedures.
• Support care team during visits and closures.
• Assist with referrals and prior authorizations.
