Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of MA experience or completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program from an accredited school.
• Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire.
• BLS (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required.
• Maintains current certifications in required emergency response training (i.e. BLS).

Responsibilities

• Perform medical assistant procedures under provider supervision within MA scope of work.
• Prepare patient for rooming and exam.
• Prepare and administer medications and immunizations.
• Suture/Staple removal and dressing changes.
• Collect laboratory specimens.
• Provide basic education to patients.
• Set up aseptic and sterile procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
