Job summary

Presbyterian Medical Group’s Socorro clinic is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant I or II to support providers in an outpatient setting. You will prepare patients for exams, assist with medications and immunizations, and participate in care team workflows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of MA experience or completion of an MA or Nursing Assistant program from an accredited school.
• Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire.
• BLS (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required within 90 days of hire.
• Maintains current certifications in required emergency response trainings (i.e. BLS).
• Orthopedic and Podiatry Departments Only: ROT Registered Orthopedic Technologist required within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for rooming and exam.
• Prepare and administer medications and immunizations.
• Suture/Staple removal and dressing changes.
• Collects and prepares laboratory specimens.
• Provides basic education to patients.
• Sets up aseptic and sterile procedures.
• Performs office-based procedures.
• Performs basic foot care.
• Assists with additional procedures as determined by provider.
• Participates in the orientation of new hire MAs.
• May perform regulatory audits.
• Assists with visit closure.
• Participates with care team to meet patient care and clinic needs.
• May perform scribe duties after completing PMG scribe training.
