Presbyterian Medical Group's Socorro clinic seeks a compassionate Medical Assistant I or II to support providers in an outpatient setting. The role offers a career ladder based on education and experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of MA experience or completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program from an accredited school.
• Completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire.
• BLS (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required within 90 days of hire.
• Maintains current certifications in required emergency response trainings (i.e. BLS).
• Completes all Organizational, Department of Nursing and Department-Specific competency training/requirements within specified timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Performs MA procedures within the MA scope of work under supervision.
• Prepares patient for rooming and exam.
• Prepares and administers medications and immunizations.
• Suture/Staple removal and dressing changes.
• Collects and prepares laboratory specimens.
• Provides basic education to patients.
• Sets up aseptic and sterile procedures.
• Performs office-based procedures.
• Performs basic foot care.
• Assists with additional procedures as determined by provider.
• Participates in the orientation of new hire MAs.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
