Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinic flow and patient care. You will prepare exam rooms, take histories and vital signs, and greet patients to ensure smooth check-in.

You will update medical records, assist clinicians with exams, perform immunizations and phlebotomy as needed, and help coordinate scheduling and referrals. This on-site role emphasizes compassionate patient service and strict adherence to sterile procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years medical assisting experience or graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• NRCMA or AAMA certification/licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient exam rooms and equipment using sterile techniques.
• Escort patients, obtain brief history and vital signs.
• Update medical records for physician review.
• Perform immunizations, injections, venipuncture, and related procedures.
• Package specimens for lab analysis when needed.
• Assist physicians during exams and procedures.
• Greet and register clinic patients; manage referrals and authorizations.
• Schedule appointments and maintain scheduling information.
• Receive and route clinic calls and messages.
• Stock and clean exam rooms; other duties as assigned.
