Job summary

Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinic flow by delivering high-quality patient care and efficient front desk services. You will prepare exam rooms, assist physicians, and manage patient registrations and scheduling in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of medical assisting experience or a completed MA program, with NRCMA or AAMA certification expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; education may be substituted by experience.
• Minimum 2 years medical assisting experience or graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• NRCMA or AAMA certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient exam rooms and equipment using aseptic and sterile techniques.
• Escort patient to exam room, obtain brief history and vital signs; update medical records for physician review.
• Perform immunizations, injections, venipuncture, urinalysis and other procedures; document and package specimens as needed for lab analysis.
• Assist physician with patient exams and procedures.
• Greet and register clinic patients; obtain/update registration information and referrals or authorizations.
• Schedule clinic appointments and ancillary tests; maintain scheduling information.
• Handle incoming clinic calls and record messages for appropriate area.
• Clean and stock patient exam rooms.
• Other duties as assigned.
