The ideal candidate holds a High School diploma or equivalent, has 2 years of medical assisting experience (or completed an accredited program), and NRCMA/AAMA certification; duties include documentation, scheduling, and teamwork in a busy healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• 2 years medical assisting experience or graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• NRCMA (Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant) or AAMA (American Association Medical Assistants) certification required.
• Experience with immunizations and front desk duties preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient exam rooms and equipment using aseptic techniques.
• Escort patient to exam room, obtain brief history and vital signs; update medical records.
• Perform immunizations, injections, venipuncture, urinalysis and other procedures with proper documentation.
• Assist physician with patient exams and procedures.
• Greet and register patients; update registrations and referrals as needed.
• Schedule clinic appointments and ancillary tests; maintain scheduling information.
• Handle incoming clinic calls and record messages as needed.
• Clean and stock exam rooms.
• Other duties as assigned.
