Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in patient examinations and treatments. You will document vitals, manage EMR records, and help prepare charts for visits while ensuring patient safety and confidentiality.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, EKGs, medication refills, and coordinating with patients and pharmacies. Strong teamwork, communication, and clinic workflow experience are essential for successful care delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Associate Degree and/or Certified/Registered MA preferred.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or previous Medical Assisting experience required.
• 2 to 5 years MA or other relevant experience preferred; Practice in different care settings.

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient flow during clinic hours. Documents review of systems; measures vital signs; updates medical history and medications in EMR.
• Prepares patient charts in EMR for visits by scanning, abstracting, and reviewing necessary test results and records.
• Refs medications and pre-authors; communicates with patient, pharmacy, or insurer as needed.
• Obtains pertinent medical information from patients to facilitate medical decision making; responds to MyChart and calls as needed.
• Operates EKG and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests; may perform phlebotomy and cast removal.
• Maintains safe, confidential environment and adheres to legal requirements regarding patient care information.
