Job summary

The Christ Hospital in Mason, OH, is recruiting a Medical Assistant II for Mason Family Medicine. You will support physicians with examinations, manage patient flow, document histories and vitals in the EMR, and perform routine clinical tasks such as venipuncture, EKGs, and specimen handling.

Ideal candidates will have 2–5 years MA experience, completion of an accredited MA program, and certification/registration preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Associate Degree and/or Certified/Registered MA preferred. Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or previous Medical Assisting experience required.
• YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 2 to 5 years MA or other relevant experience preferred; Practice in different care settings (eg. Primary care, Specialty, EMT, etc.).
• REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, EMR and scheduling systems) required.
• Strong verbal and social skills to facilitate working respectfully with patients, physicians, visitors, co-workers, and drug reps in person or by telephone required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient flow during clinic hours and assists in examination and treatment under physician direction.
• Documents review of systems, vitals, medical history, and medication lists in EMR; ensures charts are complete for visits.
• Refills and pre-authorizes medications; communicates with patients, pharmacies, and insurers.
• Operates EKG and cardiac monitors; phlebotomy and other assigned clinical duties as needed.
• Maintains safe, confidential environment and adheres to legal responsibilities for patient information.
