Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II for a day shift in Northborough, MA. This non-exempt position is 40 hours per week with a 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM schedule. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered; the hiring range is $17.43 - $32.94 per hour.

Responsibilities include escorting patients, recording vitals, performing EKGs, phlebotomy, POC tests, injections within scope, and assisting with routine physical examinations. MA credential and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS/HS certification required; if not available on hire, must be obtained within 3 months.
• MA credential approved by MA Department of Health within 1 year from hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to examination rooms and records vital signs.
• Performs EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests according to clinic standards.
• May prepare, document, and administer non-intravenous injections within scope of practice.
• Assists in performing routine physical examinations or clinical procedures.
• Reviews laboratory results and communicates abnormal findings to physicians.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Medical Assistant credential (MA credential)

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver (HS) certification
